Taste

Tangy and tropical with floral passion fruit, juicy pineapple and a cool mint finish.

About this smoothie

Passion fruit brings an intense, floral aroma and plenty of acidity, pineapple adds juicy sweetness and vitamin C. Together they form a strongly tropical base that needs something to round it off: here the red apple, which adds body and mild sweetness.

Fresh mint cools the whole drink down. The original recipe called for a whole handful for two glasses; a few leaves per glass are enough to taste clearly. Vegan and light, it is a smoothie for summer mornings or a break in the afternoon.

Bartender tips

  • Use only the mint leaves, not the stems, which can taste bitter.
  • Frozen pineapple makes it colder and thicker without diluting it.

Variations

With lime
Add a squeeze of lime juice and a few ice cubes for a mojito style mocktail smoothie.
