About this smoothie

Apple and pineapple complement each other well: the apple brings mild sweetness, body and fibre, the pineapple juiciness, acidity and vitamin C. Together they make a fresh smoothie that tastes more like a fruit drink than a shake.

The coconut oil adds a subtle coconut note and a slightly rounder texture. It is optional, so leave it out for a lighter drink. With water as the liquid the smoothie stays light and vegan if you sweeten with agave syrup. A good choice for a warm morning.

Bartender tips

  • Add the melted coconut oil while the blender is running so it does not form flakes.
  • Frozen pineapple chunks make the smoothie colder and thicker.

Variations

Creamy
Replace the water with coconut drink and leave out the coconut oil.
