About this smoothie

Chia seeds swell in liquid and form a gel, which makes smoothies thicker and more filling. They are known for fibre and plant based omega 3 fatty acids. Here they are combined with sweet, aromatic pineapple and cooled fruit tea, which adds a light berry flavour without sugar.

The result is fruity and refreshing but keeps you going longer than a plain fruit smoothie. Drink it straight away or let it stand for ten minutes for a thicker texture.

Bartender tips

  • Grind the chia seeds briefly first if you want a completely smooth drink.
  • Add a little water if it becomes too thick.

Variations

With mango
Replace half the pineapple with mango for a creamier, sweeter version.
