Lamb's Lettuce Mango Smoothie with Banana

Taste

Thick and smooth, tropical and sweet, with just a faint green freshness in the background.

About this smoothie

Lamb's lettuce is mild and slightly nutty, so it hides easily behind strong fruit. Mango is perfect for that: it is sweet, aromatic and makes the texture thick and smooth. Mangoes are a good source of vitamin C, and the banana adds extra body.

There is another lamb's lettuce and mango recipe in this collection; this version adds banana and is the sweeter, thicker one. It works well as a breakfast on the go or after sport.

Bartender tips

  • A ripe mango gives off a sweet smell near the stem and yields slightly to pressure.
  • Frozen mango chunks are a practical alternative and make the smoothie icy cold.

Variations

Lime freshness
Add 1 tbsp lime juice to cut the sweetness a little.
