Creamy and sweet, with jammy fig, juicy pear, a fresh yoghurt tang and warm cinnamon.

About this smoothie

Fresh figs are in season from late summer into autumn, and their honeyed sweetness pairs naturally with yoghurt and warm spices. Here a juicy pear adds volume and freshness, while whole milk and soy drink create a creamy, not too heavy base.

Figs provide fibre, and their tiny seeds add a pleasant texture. Yoghurt and milk contribute protein and calcium. It makes a comforting breakfast or a sweet snack on a cool afternoon.

Bartender tips

  • Only use soft, fully ripe figs; unripe figs taste bland and slightly latex like.
  • Cinnamon is strong, so start with a quarter teaspoon and add more only after tasting.

Variations

Dried fig version
Out of season, soak 2 dried figs in warm water for 15 minutes and use them instead.

Frequently asked questions

Can I use only one kind of milk?

Yes, 150 ml of either whole milk or soy drink works fine.

Is it vegan?

Not as written; with soy yoghurt, soy drink and agave syrup it becomes vegan.
