About this smoothie
This is the frosty take on the banana blueberry smoothie. Frozen blueberries are harvested ripe and frozen quickly, and they chill and thicken the drink without watering it down the way ice cubes would.
Banana provides sweetness and creaminess, yoghurt a light tang, and whole milk makes the whole thing round and mild. Blueberries contain vitamin C and fibre, and their colour becomes particularly deep when frozen. A good choice for hot days or as a cool breakfast in any season.
Bartender tips
If your blender struggles, let the berries thaw for 5 minutes first.
Wild blueberries are smaller and more aromatic and colour the smoothie even darker.
Variations
Vegan
Use oat drink and soy yoghurt, sweetened with agave syrup.
