About this smoothie

Fresh figs are in season in late summer and early autumn, and only really ripe ones are worth blending: they should feel soft and smell sweet. Their tiny seeds give a smoothie a pleasant, slightly crunchy texture.

Figs contain fibre and bring a jammy sweetness that works beautifully with cinnamon. Coconut milk and yoghurt add creaminess and a mild tang. This smoothie suits a slow weekend breakfast or an afternoon snack in autumn.

Bartender tips

  • If fresh figs are not in season, use 3 soaked dried figs and a little more milk.
  • Go easy on the cinnamon; a quarter teaspoon is enough to taste it clearly.

Variations

With banana
Add half a banana for a thicker, sweeter smoothie.
