About this smoothie

Baby spinach is the most beginner-friendly green for smoothies: its leaves are tender, blend easily and taste much milder than mature spinach or kale. It provides folate and vitamin K, among other nutrients.

A sweet red apple supplies juice and sweetness, and a few drops of lemon keep the flavour bright and slow down browning. A light smoothie for the morning or a fresh break in the afternoon.

Bartender tips

  • Blending the leaves with the water first gives the smoothest result.
  • Too green for you? Add half a banana for more sweetness and body.

Variations

With ginger
Add a small piece of fresh ginger for a spicy kick.
