Avocado Mint Smoothie with Milk

Avocado and milk give this smoothie a texture close to a milkshake, and fresh mint makes it taste cool and clean. A spoonful of honey turns it almost into mint ice cream.

About this smoothie

Avocado is naturally rich in monounsaturated fat and has a mild, buttery flavour, which makes it an excellent base for creamy drinks. Blended with milk it becomes smooth and thick, and mint adds freshness. Milk contributes protein and calcium.

Without fruit the drink is only lightly sweet, so a teaspoon of honey is suggested as an option. Pale green and cooling, it suits a hot afternoon or a filling breakfast.

Bartender tips

  • Use spearmint rather than peppermint for a softer flavour.
  • Add a few ice cubes while blending for an even colder, shake-like drink.

Variations

Vegan version
Replace the milk with oat or almond milk and sweeten with maple syrup.
