Strawberry Papaya Smoothie with Coconut Water

Soft papaya and fresh strawberries give this smoothie a coral colour and a gentle tropical taste. Coconut water keeps it light, a spoon of yoghurt makes it a little rounder.

Strawberry Papaya Smoothie with Coconut Water

Taste

Mild and fruity, honeyed papaya with fresh strawberry, light in body with a touch of creaminess.

About this smoothie

Ripe papaya has a honeyed, mild flavour and a buttery texture that blends very smoothly. It is known as a good source of vitamin C, just like strawberries, which bring a fresher, more acidic note. Coconut water adds a light sweetness and natural minerals, and the yoghurt gives a hint of creaminess.

The smoothie is light and not too sweet, a good match for a warm morning or a break after sport.

Bartender tips

  • Add a squeeze of lime: papaya tastes flat without a little acidity.
  • Use soy or coconut yoghurt to make it vegan.

Variations

With mango
Replace half the papaya with mango for a sweeter, more intense smoothie.

Frequently asked questions

Is it vegan?

Not with dairy yoghurt. Use a plant yoghurt and it is fully plant based.

Can I use frozen fruit?

Yes, frozen papaya or strawberries make the smoothie thicker and colder.

How do I know a papaya is ripe?

The skin turns mostly yellow orange and gives slightly under gentle pressure.
