About this smoothie

Strawberries are at their best in early summer, when they are fully red and fragrant; that is when this smoothie tastes most intense. They are known for their vitamin C content and need little help to taste sweet.

The ripe banana adds body and creaminess, natural yogurt a gentle tang. Using water as the liquid keeps the smoothie fresh and light, more like a fruit drink than a milkshake. It is a good choice for breakfast, a warm afternoon or after sport.

Bartender tips

  • Out of season, frozen strawberries often taste better than pale fresh ones.
  • Swap half of the water for milk if you prefer a creamier drink.

Variations

With mint
Blend in 4 or 5 mint leaves for a fresher, summery twist.
