About this smoothie

Pear is an underrated smoothie fruit: juicy, low in acidity and sweet enough to replace banana when you want something lighter. Together with strawberries it gives a pale pink, fresh drink. Strawberries are rich in vitamin C, pears provide fibre, much of it in the skin.

Without banana or dairy this smoothie stays thin and refreshing, more like a thick juice. A good glass for a warm afternoon or next to a light breakfast.

Bartender tips

  • Leave the pear skin on, it blends in easily.
  • For more body add 2 tbsp yogurt or half a banana.

Variations

With ginger
Blend in a thin slice of fresh ginger for a warm, spicy note.
