Pear Strawberry Smoothie with Mint and Banana

Taste

Sweet and creamy, with fragrant strawberry, juicy pear and a cool mint finish.

About this smoothie

Strawberries bring fragrance and a light acidity, pear adds juice and a soft sweetness, and banana gives the drink a creamy body, so no milk or yogurt is needed. Mint rounds it off with a cool, fresh note that goes especially well with strawberries.

Strawberries are a good source of vitamin C, and the whole drink is naturally sweet. It is a good choice for early summer, when local strawberries and fresh mint are both easy to find, and it works as a light breakfast, a snack for children or a refreshing drink after exercise.

Bartender tips

  • Use spearmint rather than peppermint for a softer, sweeter herbal note.
  • Frozen strawberries or banana make it thicker and colder.

Variations

Basil twist
Replace the mint with two basil leaves; strawberry and basil are a classic pairing.
