Pineapple Smoothie with Fruit Tea and Mint

Just pineapple, fruit tea and mint. It is one of the lightest smoothies you can make, more like a thick, frothy juice than a creamy shake.

Taste

Light, frothy and tropical with sweet pineapple, a berry hint and a cool mint finish.

About this smoothie

Ripe pineapple is sweet and aromatic enough to carry a smoothie on its own. It is known for vitamin C and contains bromelain, an enzyme that gives fresh pineapple its slight tingle. Cold fruit tea replaces water and adds a berry note, fresh mint brings coolness.

The smoothie is refreshing rather than filling and suits hot days, a light breakfast or the time after sport. It froths up nicely when blended and is best drunk right away.

Bartender tips

  • Freeze some of the pineapple chunks for an extra cold, slushy smoothie.
  • Only use a few mint leaves; too many taste like toothpaste.

Variations

Coconut touch
Replace half the tea with coconut water for a more tropical smoothie.
