Baby Pineapple Apple Smoothie with Carrot Juice

Carrot juice sounds more like a juice bar than a smoothie, but it gives this blend a gentle earthy sweetness and a glowing orange colour. Pineapple and apple keep it fruity and fresh.

Baby Pineapple Apple Smoothie with Carrot Juice

Taste

Juicy and fruity, with sweet pineapple, crisp apple and a soft earthy carrot sweetness.

About this smoothie

Baby pineapples are small varieties, often from South Africa or Mauritius, with a tender, very sweet core that can usually be eaten. Half of one is enough for a glass. Carrot juice brings beta carotene and a mild sweetness that pairs well with tropical fruit, while the apple adds freshness and fibre. Honey is optional, since ripe pineapple is sweet on its own. The smoothie is light and juicy, a good start to the day or a refreshing afternoon drink.

Bartender tips

  • If you use a regular pineapple, take about 150 g and remove the hard core.
  • Add a thin slice of ginger for a warming kick.

Variations

Orange carrot
Replace the water with fresh orange juice for a fruitier, more citrusy glass.
