Pear Raspberry Smoothie with Coconut

Taste

Tangy, aromatic raspberry with a dark berry note, softened by pear and banana.

About this smoothie

Raspberries are among the most aromatic berries and bring a clear, tart flavour and plenty of fibre. A small portion of blackberries adds a darker, wilder note. Ripe pear and half a banana balance the acidity with natural sweetness, and coconut oil makes the smoothie feel rounder.

It is a fresh, fruity smoothie that works well for breakfast or as a snack, and it is easy to make all year with frozen berries.

Bartender tips

  • Coconut oil sets in cold liquid and can leave small flakes. Melt it gently and pour it in while the blender is running, or use room temperature ingredients.
  • Frozen berries work all year round and make the smoothie thicker and colder.

Variations

Raspberry only
Leave out the blackberries and use 130 g raspberries for a brighter, purer flavour.

Frequently asked questions

Is it vegan?

Yes, all ingredients are plant based (sweeten with agave syrup rather than honey).

Can I use frozen berries?

Yes, frozen berries work very well; you may need a splash more water.

Is it very sour?

Raspberries are tart, but pear and banana balance them. Add 1 tsp agave syrup if you prefer it sweeter.
