Pear Blueberry Smoothie with Coconut

Taste

Sweet and mild blueberry with pear and banana, smooth and softly rounded.

About this smoothie

Blueberries are sweeter and milder than blackberries, and their skins give the smoothie a deep colour. They are often praised for their anthocyanins, the natural pigments behind the blue. Ripe pear and half a banana add sweetness and body, so there is no need for sugar. The coconut oil mainly rounds off the texture.

This is a mild, family friendly fruit smoothie for breakfast or an afternoon break.

Bartender tips

  • Coconut oil sets in cold liquid and can leave small flakes. Melt it gently and pour it in while the blender is running, or use room temperature ingredients.
  • Frozen berries work all year round and make the smoothie thicker and colder.

Variations

With yoghurt
Replace 100 ml of water with natural yoghurt for a creamier smoothie.
