About this smoothie

Mint pairs naturally with stone fruit: its menthol freshness cuts through the soft sweetness of a ripe peach. A few leaves are enough; too many turn the drink bitter and grassy. Pear adds body without taking over the flavour.

Peaches contain vitamin C and some beta carotene. This smoothie is best in high summer, when peaches are juicy and fragrant, and it makes a good alcohol-free drink for a warm afternoon.

Bartender tips

  • Use only the leaves; mint stalks can taste bitter.
  • Blend in a few ice cubes for an extra cool drink on a hot day.

Variations

Peach basil
Swap the mint for 4 basil leaves.
