Apple Pear Smoothie with Fresh Mint

Taste

Light and fresh with mild apple and pear sweetness and a cooling mint finish.

About this smoothie

Mint and apple are a classic combination in drinks, from lemonades to iced teas, and the pear adds a softer, more rounded sweetness. The mint here is used fresh and in moderation, so it refreshes without tasting like toothpaste. Apples and pears contribute fibre and natural sugar, while water keeps the smoothie light and hydrating. It is a good choice on hot days, after exercise or as a light alternative to juice in the morning.

Bartender tips

  • Use only the leaves: mint stems taste woody and bitter.
  • Add two or three ice cubes on hot days for an extra chill.

Variations

With cucumber
Add 50 g cucumber for an even more refreshing, spa-style version.

Frequently asked questions

Is it vegan?

Yes. It contains only fruit, mint and water.

Can I use dried mint?

Better not: dried mint tastes dusty in a smoothie. Peppermint tea instead of water is the better swap.

Can I prepare it ahead?

It is best fresh; after a few hours the mint loses its aroma and the fruit darkens.
