Apple Pear Smoothie with Coconut Water

Three ingredients, five minutes: this is the everyday smoothie for mornings when nothing else is in the fruit bowl. Coconut water makes it a little rounder than plain water.

Apple Pear Smoothie with Coconut Water

Taste

Light, juicy and gently sweet, with fresh apple and a soft pear and coconut note.

About this smoothie

Apples and pears are available all year and blend into a smooth, gently sweet base. A red apple brings sweetness and a slightly tart freshness, the pear a soft, juicy texture. Coconut water adds a subtle nutty sweetness and keeps the drink light.

There is a second apple and coconut water recipe in this collection; this one is the pure apple and pear version without greens. It suits children as well as adults and makes a simple breakfast drink or afternoon snack.

Bartender tips

  • A few drops of lemon juice keep the apple from browning.
  • Use very cold coconut water or add two ice cubes for a colder drink.

Variations

Cinnamon apple
Add a pinch of cinnamon for a warm, autumn flavour.
