Taste

Juicy and fresh, with tangy orange, soft papaya and a fragrant peach note.

About this smoothie

Orange and papaya share a warm colour and complement each other well: the citrus brings freshness and acidity, the papaya softness and a mild, musky sweetness. Both are rich in vitamin C, and papaya also contains carotenoids. The peach adds perfume and makes the texture smoother.

This smoothie is a good start to the day or a refreshing afternoon drink. Blending whole orange segments rather than juice keeps some of the fibre, but remove the white pith carefully, as it tastes bitter.

Bartender tips

  • Very juicy oranges may need no water at all; add it gradually.
  • A squeeze of lime juice brings out the papaya flavour.

Variations

Creamy
Add 3 tbsp natural yoghurt for a creamier, more filling version.
