About this smoothie

Rocket, also known as arugula, has a peppery, mustard-like flavour that gives green smoothies more character than spinach alone. Ripe papaya is sweet and very soft with a slightly musky aroma, and it contains vitamin C. Half an avocado makes the texture velvety and adds mostly unsaturated fats, so the glass is quite filling. A good green smoothie for breakfast or lunch if you like a little bite.

Bartender tips

  • Start with less rocket if you are unsure; its sharpness grows when blended.
  • A squeeze of lime brings out the papaya flavour.

Variations

Milder version
Replace the rocket with more baby spinach or lamb's lettuce.
