About this smoothie

Papaya, orange and passion fruit are all tropical or subtropical fruits, and together they give a smoothie with a deep orange colour and plenty of aroma. Papaya and orange are both good sources of vitamin C. Papaya contributes a soft texture, orange its juicy acidity, and passion fruit an intense fragrance. Half a banana holds everything together. It makes a bright breakfast or a refreshing afternoon drink.

Bartender tips

  • Pulse the passion fruit only briefly so the seeds stay whole and do not turn bitter.
  • Remove the orange pith carefully, as it tastes bitter when blended.

Variations

With mango
Replace the papaya with mango for a thicker, sweeter smoothie.
