Oat Blueberry Smoothie with Oat Milk

Taste

Thick, creamy and gently sweet, with a mild oat flavor and a soft blueberry tartness.

About this smoothie

This is the plant-based sister of the classic oat and blueberry smoothie. The old site listed the same recipe twice, so this version replaces cow's milk and yogurt with oat milk and a plant-based yogurt. Rolled oats and oat drink together give a thick, creamy body and a gentle cereal sweetness, and oats contain soluble fiber that makes the drink satisfying.

Banana adds sweetness, blueberries color and a mild tartness. Let the oats soak in the oat milk for a few minutes before blending for the smoothest result. A good breakfast for busy mornings.

Bartender tips

  • Soya or coconut yogurt both work; soya gives more protein, coconut more creaminess.
  • Frozen blueberries make it colder and thicker.

Variations

Overnight jar
Mix oats, oat milk and yogurt in a jar in the evening and blend with the fruit in the morning.
