Mango Yogurt Smoothie with Goji Berries

A ripe mango does almost all the work here: it makes the smoothie thick, sweet and deep orange. Goji berries add a slightly tart counterpoint, yogurt some freshness.

About this smoothie

Mango is one of the most popular smoothie fruits because its flesh blends into a naturally creamy purée. It is known for vitamin C and beta carotene, which gives it its golden colour. Dried goji berries add a sweet and tart flavour similar to cranberries, and soy drink with a spoon of yogurt makes it creamy.

This mango lassi style smoothie works for breakfast or as an afternoon treat. Honey is optional; a ripe mango is usually sweet enough.

Bartender tips

  • Frozen mango chunks give a thicker, colder smoothie and are available all year.
  • Ripe mangoes smell sweet at the stem and give slightly when pressed.

Variations

Mango lassi twist
Add a pinch of ground cardamom for a flavour reminiscent of a lassi.
