About this smoothie

This is the tea version of the classic mango berry smoothie. Instead of water, a cooled berry or hibiscus fruit tea is used, which intensifies the berry aroma without adding sugar. Mango provides sweetness and a creamy body, while the frozen berries chill the drink and add acidity. Berries and mango are both rich in vitamin C. The smoothie is dairy free and fits a summery breakfast or an afternoon break.

Bartender tips

  • Choose a fruit tea with hibiscus for a deeper colour and more acidity.
  • Freeze leftover tea as ice cubes and use them in the next smoothie.

Variations

Banana version
Replace half a mango with a banana for a milder, creamier drink.

Frequently asked questions

Can I use black tea instead of fruit tea?

Better not. Black tea adds bitterness and caffeine; fruit tea suits the berries much better.

Is it vegan?

Yes, it contains only fruit and tea.

Does it contain caffeine?

No, fruit tea is naturally caffeine free.
