About this smoothie

Apples and pears provide the body, sweetness and fibre in this smoothie. Fresh lime juice adds sharp acidity and a clear citrus aroma, and fresh mint brings a cooling menthol note. Together they make a drink that is light and thirst quenching rather than creamy.

It suits hot days particularly well and makes a good alternative to sweet soft drinks. Taste before serving: limes vary a lot in acidity, so adjust with more water or a little honey.

Bartender tips

  • Only squeeze the limes just before blending; fresh juice tastes much better.
  • Add a few ice cubes for an even more refreshing drink.

Variations

Cucumber mint
Replace the pear with a piece of cucumber for a less sweet, cooler version.
