About this smoothie

The original recipe listed apples but asked you to core pears; this version sticks with apples, which give a crisper, fresher result. Kiwis are rich in vitamin C and bring a lively acidity.

Natural yogurt adds creaminess and a little protein, and almond drink keeps the texture light. Baby spinach adds colour and vitamin K without changing the taste much. A good choice for breakfast when you want something fresh but still filling.

Bartender tips

  • Drink it soon after blending: kiwi contains an enzyme that can make dairy taste bitter over time.
  • A sweet apple variety balances the kiwi's acidity best.

Variations

Vegan version
Use soy yogurt instead of natural yogurt.

Frequently asked questions

Why should I drink it straight away?

Kiwi contains the enzyme actinidin, which breaks down milk proteins and can make the smoothie bitter if it stands for long.

Can I use pears instead of apples?

Yes, pears make it softer and sweeter.

Is this smoothie vegan?

Not with dairy yogurt. With soy yogurt it is.
