Kiwi Oat Smoothie with Coconut Water

Coconut water keeps this oat smoothie light and a little tropical. Pear softens the kiwi, and the oats make it last until lunch.

About this smoothie

Coconut water is the clear liquid from young coconuts, lightly sweet and naturally containing potassium. It is much thinner than coconut milk, so the smoothie stays fresh and easy to drink rather than rich.

Kiwi brings vitamin C and a clean acidity, pear adds juicy sweetness, and a couple of spoons of oats give it enough substance to count as a light breakfast or a snack after exercise.

Bartender tips

  • Use unsweetened coconut water; flavoured versions often contain added sugar.
  • If the smoothie separates while standing, simply stir or shake it again.

Variations

Green version
Blend in 20 g baby spinach for a deeper green colour and a mild vegetable note.
