About this smoothie

The name promises good mood, and the recipe keeps things deliberately simple: fruit you probably have at home, plus yoghurt and milk. Banana provides sweetness and body, blueberries a light tartness and colour.

Natural yoghurt and milk add protein and make the smoothie filling enough to count as a small breakfast. Because it contains no added sugar, the sweetness depends on how ripe your banana is. A version with more yoghurt than milk turns thicker and fits nicely in a jar to take along.

Bartender tips

  • Frozen blueberries make it colder and give a deeper colour.
  • For a to go version, use a screw top jar and shake briefly before drinking.

Variations

With oats
Blend in 2 tablespoons of rolled oats for a more filling breakfast.
