About this smoothie

Strawberries and cream is one of the best-loved flavour pairings, and this smoothie borrows it for breakfast. Fresh strawberries are a good source of vitamin C, and in season they need hardly any extra sweetness.

Oats add fibre and staying power, yogurt and milk bring protein and a creamy texture. Honey is optional: taste first, because ripe summer strawberries and a spotty banana are often sweet enough on their own.

Bartender tips

  • Out of season, frozen strawberries often taste better than pale fresh ones.
  • Wash strawberries before removing the stalks so they do not soak up water.

Variations

Vegan version
Use oat drink, plant yogurt and maple syrup instead of honey.
