Breakfast Smoothie with Apple and Pear

No banana, no sugar, just apple and pear with a little yogurt and milk. The result is lighter and juicier than most breakfast smoothies and tastes clearly of orchard fruit.

About this smoothie

Apples and pears are the classic fruits of Central European orchards and are available almost all year. Together they give a smoothie that is juicy, mildly sweet and slightly tart, with fibre from the peel.

Yogurt and milk add creaminess and protein without masking the fruit. It is a good option for people who do not like banana, and it fits a light breakfast or an afternoon snack.

Bartender tips

  • A very ripe pear gives the most sweetness and a smoother texture.
  • For a colder smoothie, freeze the fruit pieces beforehand.

Variations

With oats
Blend in 2 tbsp rolled oats to make it more filling.
