About this smoothie

Blueberries give this smoothie its deep lilac colour; the pigments responsible are anthocyanins. The berries also bring fibre and vitamin C, while banana adds natural sweetness and a smooth texture. A generous amount of yoghurt adds protein and a fresh tang, and almond milk keeps the base light with a hint of nuttiness.

This version is a good breakfast smoothie and also works after sport. Wild blueberries have a stronger flavour and colour than cultivated ones, and frozen berries are a practical choice all year.

Bartender tips

  • Frozen blueberries make the smoothie thicker and colder with no ice needed.
  • Greek yoghurt makes it even creamier and more filling.

Variations

Vegan
Replace the natural yoghurt with a soy or oat yoghurt.
