About this smoothie

Pear and oats are an autumnal combination familiar from porridge and crumbles. In this smoothie the juicy pear brings a delicate sweetness and fibre, the banana creaminess, and the oats make the drink filling.

Almond milk and a little natural yoghurt complete the texture: smooth, thick and mild. A spoonful of agave syrup or honey is optional and only needed if the fruit is not fully ripe. It is a convenient breakfast to blend in a few minutes and take along in a jar.

Bartender tips

  • A pinch of cinnamon or ginger goes very well with pear.
  • Use soft, fragrant pears; hard ones make the smoothie bland.

Variations

Vegan
Use a plant yoghurt and sweeten with agave syrup.
