About this smoothie

Blackberries grow wild across much of Europe and North America, and late summer is their peak season. Their flavour sits between sweet and sharp, which makes them a natural partner for mellow banana and nutty almond drink.

Blackberries provide vitamin C and fibre, and their dark colour comes from anthocyanins. Out of season, frozen blackberries are an easy swap and make the smoothie even colder and thicker.

Bartender tips

  • Blackberry seeds can be noticeable; blend a little longer or strain through a sieve for a silkier drink.
  • If the berries are very tart, add 1 tsp honey or agave syrup.

Variations

Vegan version
Use soy yogurt in place of natural yogurt.
