Two spoons of yoghurt make all the difference: they give this banana almond smoothie a fresh tang and a thicker, silkier texture than almond milk alone.

About this smoothie

Almond milk is light and mildly nutty, but on its own it can make a smoothie a little thin. Natural yoghurt adds body, a pleasant acidity and some protein, while the ripe banana brings sweetness and creaminess. The combination is balanced and not too sweet.

This smoothie is a good breakfast or post workout glass. With a plant based yoghurt it becomes fully vegan.

Bartender tips

  • Greek yoghurt makes the smoothie even thicker.
  • A teaspoon of almond butter strengthens the nutty flavour.

Variations

Vegan
Replace the natural yoghurt with soy or almond yoghurt.
