About this smoothie

Banana, oats and a plant drink are one of the most popular smoothie bases, because they turn out creamy and satisfying with very little effort. Oats contain fibre, bananas bring natural sweetness, so the agave syrup is optional.

Coconut milk adds a delicate coconut aroma and creaminess. The old recipe listed an implausible amount of oat flakes; three tablespoons per glass is a realistic quantity that keeps the smoothie drinkable. Vegan and quick, it suits busy mornings or a snack before sport.

Bartender tips

  • Frozen banana slices make it thick and cold like a shake.
  • The smoothie thickens as it stands; add a splash of water before drinking.

Variations

With cocoa
Add a teaspoon of cocoa powder for a chocolate coconut version.
