Banana Berry Smoothie
Taste
Fruity and bright, balanced between sweet banana and the tartness of mixed berries.
About this smoothie
Mixed berry packs, usually strawberries, raspberries, blueberries and blackberries, are a freezer staple for smoothie fans. Each berry adds its own note: strawberry sweetness, raspberry acidity, blueberry colour. Berries in general are known for fibre and vitamin C and for being relatively low in sugar compared with tropical fruit. Agave syrup is optional; a ripe banana is often enough. The smoothie is vegan and quick, good for breakfast or as a snack between meals.
Bartender tips
With frozen berries you get a thick, almost ice cream like texture; add a little more water if needed.
A few drops of lemon juice make the berry flavour more pronounced.
Variations
Creamy berry
Blend in 3 tbsp natural or soy yogurt for a creamier version.
