Spinach Cucumber Smoothie with Green Tea

Taste

Cool and fresh, with crisp cucumber, a creamy avocado body and a light green tea note.

About this smoothie

Baby spinach is the mildest way to add leafy greens to a smoothie and gives a deeper colour than lettuce. Cucumber supplies freshness and volume with very few calories, and half an avocado makes the texture creamy. Green tea adds a subtle, slightly grassy note and some caffeine.

Since it contains almost no fruit, this is a savoury smoothie. It works well at lunchtime or as a light snack when you do not want anything sweet.

Bartender tips

  • A pinch of salt and a few drops of lime make the savoury flavours pop.
  • Chill the cucumber beforehand for a properly cold smoothie without ice.

Variations

With ginger
Add 5 g fresh ginger for a warm, spicy kick.
