Lamb's Lettuce Cucumber Smoothie with Green Tea

Taste

Cool and fresh, with crisp cucumber, a creamy avocado body and a light green tea note.

About this smoothie

Cucumber is mostly water and gives this smoothie a light, crisp freshness, while avocado adds creaminess and monounsaturated fats. Lamb's lettuce has a soft, nutty taste and blends smoothly. Cooled green tea replaces water and adds a subtle, slightly grassy depth, along with a moderate amount of caffeine.

This savoury smoothie contains almost no fruit sugar. It is a good choice for people who prefer less sweet drinks, for example at lunchtime.

Bartender tips

  • A pinch of salt and a few drops of lime make the savoury flavours pop.
  • Chill the cucumber beforehand for a properly cold smoothie without ice.

Variations

With apple
Add half a green apple for a fresher, slightly sweet version.
