Cucumber Mint Smoothie with Avocado

Half a cucumber, half an avocado and a few mint leaves make a smoothie that tastes cool and clean. It is not sweet, closer to a chilled green soup you can drink.

Taste

About this smoothie

Cucumber is mostly water and provides lightness and a crisp freshness, while avocado adds body and mostly unsaturated fats. Fresh mint gives the smoothie its cooling character, and lime juice keeps the colour bright.

Because it contains no sweet fruit, it is low in sugar and works well alongside a light lunch or on a hot afternoon. A pinch of salt brings out the flavours.

Bartender tips

  • Add half a green apple if you prefer a slightly sweet version.
  • A pinch of salt and a few ice cubes make it even more refreshing.

Variations

Sweet version
Add half a green apple or a handful of green grapes.
