Avocado Nectarine Smoothie

Avocado turns a single nectarine into a thick, velvety smoothie. The fruit keeps its fragrance, and the avocado adds body without much flavour of its own.

About this smoothie

Avocado is a useful smoothie ingredient because it adds creaminess without dairy. It is known to contain monounsaturated fats and some potassium. Its flavour is mild and nutty, so the nectarine stays in the foreground with its juicy, peachy aroma.

Because avocado is not sweet, taste the smoothie before serving and add a little honey if needed. It is filling enough for a small breakfast.

Bartender tips

  • A squeeze of lime keeps the colour fresh and brightens the taste.
  • Use two nectarines if they are small.

Variations

With spinach
Add 15 g baby spinach for a greener smoothie.

Only slightly; the nectarine carries the flavour.

It is best fresh, as avocado browns once cut.

Is it vegan?
