Avocado Mint Smoothie with Peppermint Tea

Peppermint tea replaces milk here, so the mint comes through twice: from the tea and from fresh leaves. Avocado and banana still make it creamy.

About this smoothie

Using cooled herbal tea as the liquid is a simple way to add flavour to a smoothie without sugar or dairy. Peppermint tea brings a clear, cool mint taste, fresh mint leaves add a greener, softer note. Avocado provides mostly monounsaturated fat and a velvety texture, banana natural sweetness and potassium.

The tea must be completely cold before blending, ideally brewed the evening before. The result is a creamy, refreshing and fully plant based drink for warm days.

Bartender tips

  • Brew the tea a little stronger than usual, it loses intensity when blended.
  • Freeze the tea in an ice cube tray for a colder smoothie.

Variations

Green tea version
Use cooled green tea instead of peppermint tea for a lighter herbal note.
