Apple Spinach Smoothie with Baby Banana

A crisp red apple, a handful of spinach and one small banana: few ingredients, all easy to find. The baby banana adds just enough creaminess without taking over.

Apple Spinach Smoothie with Baby Banana

Taste

Juicy and fresh, with sweet apple, a soft banana note and a mild green background.

About this smoothie

Baby bananas, sometimes sold as finger bananas, are smaller than regular bananas and tend to be sweeter with a slightly more intense aroma. Here one is enough to round off a juicy red apple and give the smoothie some body. Baby spinach adds folate, vitamin K and a fresh green colour but very little flavour.

This is a light, everyday green smoothie that suits breakfast or a mid-morning break. It is also a good base to build on once you are used to greens in a glass.

Bartender tips

  • If you cannot find baby bananas, half a regular ripe banana works the same way.
  • Chill the apple beforehand so the smoothie is cold without ice.

Variations

Ginger kick
Add a thin slice of peeled ginger for a little warmth.
