About this smoothie

Apples and strawberries are easy to find for much of the year, which makes this one of the simplest smoothies to keep in your routine. A sweet red variety such as Gala or Fuji balances the tartness of the berries. Strawberries provide vitamin C, apples fibre, especially when the skin stays on.

Apple blends into a slightly thicker, pulpy texture than soft fruit, so a powerful blender helps. A fresh glass for breakfast or the afternoon.

Bartender tips

  • Cut the apple into smaller pieces if your blender is not very powerful.
  • A few drops of lemon juice stop the apple from browning.

Variations

With oats
Add 1 tbsp rolled oats and a splash of milk for a more filling version.
