About this smoothie

Mango is one of the best smoothie fruits because its flesh is naturally creamy, so no banana or dairy is needed. A crisp apple adds juice and a little acidity, and a squeeze of lime lifts the tropical sweetness and keeps it from tasting heavy.

Mango provides vitamin C and carotenoids, the pigments behind its golden colour, and the apple adds fibre. It is a simple, sunny smoothie for breakfast or an afternoon break.

Bartender tips

  • Ripe mangoes give slightly under gentle pressure and smell sweet at the stem end.
  • A tart apple variety balances the sweetness of the mango best.

Variations

Mint version
