Mango and kiwi balance each other well: one is sweet and creamy, the other tart and juicy. Together they carry a generous portion of baby spinach without any trouble.

About this smoothie

Mango is a popular partner for leafy greens because its sweetness and creamy flesh cover the grassy taste of spinach. Kiwi adds acidity and freshness, and kiwis are rich in vitamin C. The result is a balanced green smoothie that tastes more of fruit than of leaves and needs no sweetener. It is light, since water is the only liquid, and fits breakfast or a post-workout snack.

Bartender tips

  • Use the other mango half for a second smoothie or freeze it in cubes.
  • For a creamier drink, add half a banana.

Variations

With coconut water
Replace the water with coconut water for a light tropical note.
