Frozen strawberries chill this smoothie on their own, so there is no need for ice. Pineapple brings juicy acidity, and fresh mint makes the finish cool and clean.

About this smoothie
A light fruit smoothie that tastes of summer, with water as the only liquid. Strawberries and pineapple are both good sources of vitamin C, and together they balance sweetness and acidity nicely. Half a banana gives the texture some body. Mint adds freshness and works especially well with strawberries. The smoothie is refreshing on warm days and fits well as part of a light breakfast.
Bartender tips
Keep a bag of frozen strawberries ready; they replace ice and never water the smoothie down.
If your blender struggles, let the frozen strawberries thaw for five minutes first.
Variations
Creamy version
Replace half the water with natural yoghurt for a softer, tangier smoothie.
