About this smoothie

Oats bring fibre, including beta-glucan, and make smoothies thicker and more filling. Fine, tender oat flakes blend almost invisibly, while jumbo oats can leave a grainy texture.

Pear and apple both add natural sweetness and juice, and baby spinach contributes colour and vitamin K. Almond drink is light and slightly nutty; unsweetened versions are low in sugar, but also in protein. The result is a mild, balanced smoothie that keeps you going through the morning.

Bartender tips

  • Let the oats soak in the almond drink for 5 minutes before blending for a smoother result.
  • The smoothie thickens as it stands; stir in a little extra liquid if needed.

Variations

With cinnamon
Add a pinch of cinnamon for a flavour reminiscent of apple crumble.
