About this smoothie

Pear and raspberry is a familiar pairing from tarts and compotes: the soft, honeyed pear calms the raspberry's acidity, while the berries give the pear more personality. Raspberries are a good source of fibre and vitamin C, pears add further fibre, much of it in the skin.

Made with water, the smoothie is light and juicy. It is a good choice for late summer, when both fruits are in season, and suits breakfast or an afternoon break.

Bartender tips

  • Soft, ripe pears give the best flavour and texture.
  • Strain the smoothie if you do not like raspberry seeds.

Variations
